About EQ CRE Capital
Meet Alonzo Q. Ford
FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR, USMA ‘98
Known as “the Money Guy” in Atlanta commercial real estate circles, Alonzo Ford has orchestrated over $1B in deals with over 15 years of experience in real estate evaluation, acquisition, and finance. A West Point graduate and decorated combat Veteran, he founded EQ-CRE Capital to connect proven Veteran, minority, and emerging commercial real estate developers with the strategic capital that brings their ideas, projects, and communities to life.
“As a combat veteran, I believe trust, service, and authenticity must come first. Commercial real estate is fraught with distrust and empty promises, to the detriment of our business relationships, our opportunities, and our communities,” said Ford in a recent interview. “I believe our success in this industry is largely due to how we serve every person impacted by each deal—from the developers and investors to the small business owner looking to lease her second location and the blue-collar employee picking out his first home.”
“This is what I fought for in the Army, and what I continue to fight for with each deal,” he added. “We all deserve to work with people and organizations we trust—so we can get to the bigger, better outcomes our neighborhoods, our cities, and our country deserve.”
In addition to his role as Managing Director and Founder, Alonzo is the equity partner at Lowe’s Guardian Angel, an assisted living community in metro Atlanta, where he also serves as the board chairman and real estate and finance partner.
A graduate of Goizueta Business School, Alonzo is active on Advisory Committees with Atlanta Public Schools and Cobb County School Board and participates with the ULI Atlanta District Council Center for Leadership, has served as Vice-Chair of Events for Business Executives for National Security Southeast, and is an active leader in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
EQ-CRE Core Values
Every relationship. Every deal. Every time.
Trust is earned and honored.
Real estate is a relationship business, and relationships are built on trust. It goes beyond safeguarding the details of a deal. It means setting high expectations, following up, and following through. It means being proactive in our communication, reliable at every opportunity, and transparent at every turn.
Time is the greatest asset.
If we haven’t saved our partners time, we’ve wasted it. Everything we do—from the efficiency of our proven processes to the power of our relationships—is designed to distill knowledge and expertise into a simple, streamlined, and stress-free experience.
Words whisper. Results roar.
In an industry with a lot of fast talkers, we do everything we can to make sure our results speak for themselves. We expertly handle variables so that we deliver on our promises—with every client, with every conversation, with every deal.
Service is a state of mind.
As a veteran-owned company, we know what it means to serve. We know how, when, and where to get a deal done, even (and especially) when it is nuanced or complex. The skills learned in active duty apply just as readily in commercial real estate—discipline in details, focus in frenzy, credibility of character, and accountability in accomplishment.
We believe a better world exists when there is equity in equity.
The strongest communities are shaped by those who live, work, support, and serve within them. At the root of every deal and transaction is a deep relationship built on trust, authenticity, and impact. We are proud to be the ‘go giver’ of capital to veteran and minority real estate acquirers and developers.
